Solo Inquiry Paper Reflection

If i’m being honest i was a little worried on how the process for this paper was going to be. I’m not going to lie, it was a bit of a roller coaster. At the very beginning I was a little scared because I never wrote a college research paper. However, once the professor gave us the requirements and gave us time to think about the topic, I felt less worried. I did take a science research class in high school so I did have some experience in writing papers. I think what helped me a lot was the time we had to gather our ideas and the fact that we were required to upload a draft. I started to worry when I was writing the draft. The minimum required pages was 5 but to me that was a lot compared to the little information I had gathered. I was not finding any good articles regarding my topic. The minimum articles we were supposed to use was 4 but I was having trouble finding articles in the CCNY databases. The first draft I submitted was horrible. I changed my whole research question and had to find new articles to back up my thesis. Which meant most of the work I had for the draft was gone. Which is why I was so thankful we had a draft with the professor’s feedback. After creating a new question and finding better articles, the paper became a lot easier. As I was writing my final draft I found that the most difficult part of the paper was the discussion. I felt like I was repeating myself too much. I think for our next assignment it’s going to be a lot easier considering we’re working in groups. My peers can help me adjust my mistakes and bring new ideas. Regarding my paper, I think I did a good job in showing all the evidence to prove my thesis is correct. I feel like I did a much better job compared to my first draft. There might be many errors considering it is my first assignment but overall, I think with the help of my peers and my professor the next assignment will be even better.
